The power of Gregorian Chant

I believe it was Father Ripperger who mentioned that demons have an aversion to Catholic Gregorian chants. It’s more than just a sound that’s important here, and I think I understand why he said this. When you pray the rosary and repeatedly recite the prayers, it is not just about what you say and hear, but more about the state of mind you enter. I find that when I listen to Gregorian chant, it feels like a conversation with God. The music puts me in a state where I want to pray and be attentive, almost as if God is calling me. It’s difficult to listen to Gregorian chant and feel inclined to sin. Conversely, if I can’t listen to it, I take it as a sign that I’m not open to God’s mercy and may be in danger of sin. Even though I might not feel like listening to it, I know that Gregorian chant is divine and worth experiencing. This doesn’t mean I want to listen to contemporary pop music and feel bad about it. It’s just a situation where I realize the power of Gregorian chant, even if I don’t feel like listening to it at the moment. Nevertheless, this divine music enriches the soul and brings inner peace. It helps keep me attentive and free from negative thoughts while I’m reading or working. I highly recommend it.
